Biography
Mikhail Fiksel is an Assistant Professor of Instruction in the School of Theatre and Dance, teaching Sound Design. He is a Tony Award-winning designer, composer, audio producer, and dj working in theatre, dance, film, immersive experiences, and audio-forward media. His recent work includes multiple productions on Broadway, numerous projects with Audible, and countless collaborations with Steppenwolf Theatre, The Public Theatre, The Kennedy Center, Signature Theatre, Playwrights Horizons, The Seldoms, The Goodman Theatre, Chicago Shakespeare, La Jolla Playhouse, The Fly Honey Show, Oregon Shakespeare Festival, Albany Park Theatre Project and Make Believe Association, where he is Head of Audio. Other honors include 3 Lucille Lortel Awards, multiple Joseph Jefferson Awards and the 2020 Obie Award for Sound Design. He is a proud member of USA and TSDCA, and has a BA from the University of Chicago.
