Catherine Slade is Associate Professor of Theatre where she teaches:

Voice for the Non-actor, Voice for the Actor, and Voice & Text.

Special Interest: Voice & Texts, Alba Emoting, and Audio Arts.

Movement:Ìý Tai Chi and Qi Gong

Ìý

Catherine is a Designated Linklater Specialist who trained with Kristen Linlater, Joseph Chaikin, and Peter Kass at the Working Theatre, New York.Ìý Catherine is an actress, producer, director and vocal coach.Ìý She has worked at New York Shakespeare Festival, The Public Theatre, Arena Stage, Goodman Theatre, Negro Ensemble Company, Mabou Mines. While living in New York, Catherine founded and was Artistic Director of ‘Manhattan Bridge Company,’ NYC. International festivals include The Edinburgh Festival, Teatro Quatro, and festivals in Holland, Yugoslavia, Israel, and Ghana. Catherine taught voice and performance at New York University, Rutger, School of the Art Institute, Harvard University; and voice workshops internationally and across the United States. She is a member of Actor Equity, Screen Actor's Guild,and AFTRA

Research Interest:

Sound and Text, Tone Poems and Multimedia Theatrical Performance Styles, and AudioArt Techniques for Storytelling.Ìý Catherine is deeply committed to prison reform and for many years has directed the Actors Training Program for the Advanced Trial Advocacy, in collaboration with the University of Chicago Law School, and ÌÇÐÄvlog¹Ù·½Èë¿Úapp, Theatre Program.
